Search Engine Marketing (SEM) covers activities aimed at improving a website's search engine rankings (Search Engine Optimisation or "SEO") as well as search engine advertising campaigns such as pay-per-click advertising through search engines (e.g. Google AdWords campaigns).

Search Engine Optimisation may seem like a complex subject, which in turn has created a number of myths and misconceptions about the term. However, while there in fact are quite a number of everchanging factors to keep in mind when optimising a website for search engines, most of them make a lot of sense and are aimed at ensuring that internet users can easily find the information they're looking for.

SEO typically comes in two phases:

SEO Phase 1 - Before Website Launch

Includes all the SEO friendly measures we take while building your website (keywords, title and description tags, quality of write-ups, etc). Phase 1 is typically included in your web design package.

SEO Phase 2 - After Website Launch

Includes activities aimed improving search engine rankings after launch (link exchange programmes, blogging, website updates, etc). Phase 2 is typically a recommended optional extra on our website projects.

Google AdWords


Pay-per-click advertising such as Google AdWords can be a great way to generate instant traffic to a website. As you only pay for what you're getting (i.e. you only pay an agreed amount when someone actually clicks on your ad and is taken to your website), it's a very cost-effective solution, provided the campaign has been planned professionally.
